New parish priests make an “Oath of Fidelity” to their Bishop, publicly professing belief in the Catholic faith and promising to teach it faithfully. Most Reverend Donald Sproxton, who is the Auxiliary Bishop of Perth, is planning to attend the 9:30am Sunday Mass on September 1st at Sacred Heart Church to witness this and to ‘Install’ Fr Stephen formally as the parish priest, which Archbishop Costelloe has asked to be initially for a period of 6 years.
